FAQ & House Rules

1. Can I make a booking through the email?
Yes, kindly send your inquiry to contactus@rooftalkhostel.com.my, please noted that all the reservation is only confirmed upon received full payment. We do not accept booking without payment. You may book with us at Roof Talk Theme Hostel Website or on numerous hostel booking websites like hostelworld, agoda, airbnb, booking.com ect.

2. Does Roof Talk Theme Hostel provide airport pick up upon arrival?
Sorry we do not provide this service at this moment but there are a variety of public transport services available, like taxi and busses.

3. I’m arriving after midnight. Does the reception open for 24 hours?
Our reception hours is from 9am-6pm. Please note that there will be no manager on duty between 6pm to 9am. If you’re arriving at our hostel between these times, please email us ahead, and we’ll try our best to assist you.

4. Can I temporarily store my luggage at the hostel before or after check-in?
Yes we have free luggage storage available for limited time. It can only be used by people who have booked in advanced, before check-in or a limited time after check-out. There's only limited space available. Noted that the reception counter will be closed at 6pm

5. Can we bring children or pets?
Children between the age of 12 and 18 should be accompanied by an adult. If you have young children travelling with you, please inform us. Due to the high hygiene standards we apply we cannot allow pets in the hostel.

6. If I book a whole room or dorm, can I allow extra guests to stay in there?
For safety reasons we cannot allow more guests to stay in a room with a particular capacity. Visitors are welcome in the main areas until 11pm but are not allowed to stay overnight, unless they book a bed themselves.

7. How to get to Roof Talk Theme Hostel?

- PUBLIC TRANSPORT –

From Larkin Bus Terminal: 

Take Shuttle bus JB1 toward Johor Bahru Town Area. Alight at JB Sentral bus stop. 
Transfer to bus 221 (Maju).  
* Please stop at AmBank Bukit Indah (Red colour signage on your left hand), walk across the main road to Alliance Bank Taman Nusa Bestari (Blue colour signage opposite AmBank). You will find GIANT Hypermarket on the left. Walk down to the end of the street, our hostel is located same row with Pariss Hotel, above of a Japanese Restaurant.  

From City Square / Johor Bahru Town / JB Sentral

221 (Maju), Journey Time: Appx 30mins
* Please stop at AmBank Bukit Indah (Red colour signage on your left hand), walk across the main road to Alliance Bank Taman Nusa Bestari (Blue colour signage opposite AmBank). You will find GIANT Hypermarket on the left. Walk down to the end of the street, our hostel is located same row with Pariss Hotel, above of a Japanese Restaurant. 

From Singapore

Jurong East Interchange

Alight at Jurong East MRT Station, walk towards Jurong East bus Interchange. Board Causeway Link bus - CW3, clear immigration at Tuas Checkpoint, board CW3 or CW6. Please advise the bus driver to stop you at drop off point of Nusa Bestari GIANT Hypermarket on the left. Walk down to the end of the street, our hostel is located same row with Pariss Hotel, above of a Japanese Restaurant. 

Boon Lay Interchange

Alight at Boon Lay MRT Station, walk towards to Exit B which is near the public toilet. Board Causeway Link bus - CW6 at Boon Lay Way Bus Shelter, clear immigration at Tuas Checkpoint, board CW3 or CW6. Please advise the bus driver to stop you at drop off point of Nusa Bestari GIANT Hypermarket on the left. Walk down to the end of the street, our hostel is located same row with Pariss Hotel, above of a Japanese Restaurant. 

8. Private room with bathroom or shared?
All rooms in our hostel are with shared bathroom.

House Rules:

Okay Guys, as you can see, we're fun, we’re super cool, we have got everything planned to make your stay an enjoyable one, however in the interest of communal peace and harmony, we’ve laid down a few rules. Its not that long, it'll only take two minutes of your time, please make sure you READ our house rules.

In order to make your stay safe and pleasurable we ask you kindly to stick to the following house rules:

• Check In: from 2pm onwards, Check Out: before 12pm.
  You are welcome to leave your luggage in our reception counter in the lobby while waiting for your check in or
  after you have checked out.

• If the check out time of 12pm is exceeded you will automatically be booked for another night.
  We will not be surprise if you like our place so much that you automatically want to stay for more. 

• Quiet hours: 11pm – 8.00am. To make the stay pleasurable for everyone please respect each other's peace, 
  privacy and belongings. Stealing is not cool; karma will knock you right in the head!

• No Durian.

• Smoking inside Roof Talk is strictly prohibited.

• We're not in a hippie commune or a war zone, absolutely no drugs or weapons allowed! 
  We reserve the right to confiscate them and notify the authorities and they don't joke around.

• Only paying guests can stay overnight. We are happy to welcome visitors of our guests in the common area
  but they are only allowed to stay till 11 pm.

• For health and hygiene reasons we cannot allow pets or animals; For the same reasons we ask you
  kindly to keep dorms and public places clean and tidy, pick up after yourself.
  We want to be the cleanest hostel you've ever stayed in but for that we need your help!

• Consumption of alcohol is restricted in the hostel. Alcohol abuse must have been fun when you were twelve
  but by this age? Please drink responsibly.

• We have a close relationship with the Salvation Army and any clothes hanging to dry throughout the public
  area will be donated to them. As will soap, shower gel and maxipads that you leave laying around.

• During check-out all items rented from the hostel must be returned. (otherwise your deposit will be forfeited)

• Sorry guys but Roof Talk is not liable for any damage or loss of your belongings. Please take care of them.
